Noru Innes (b. 1978, Finland) is a visual artist who expresses her ideas through photography. She studied Arts and Communication in Helsinki between 1998-2002, lived in Italy for a few years and finally settled in Scotland, UK, in 2008. After carrying out commercial photographic work for her own businesses for almost 10 years, she took on formal photography studies at the University of Highlands and Islands in 2021 and graduated in 2023.

Noru’s goal as an artist is to produce thought-provoking and socially engaging work through conceptual storytelling. Her style is often minimalistic with formal qualities, incorporating colourful and playful elements to engage and evoke emotions. With her conceptual approach, Noru’s focus is on expanding views of documentary photography and challenging its customary representational nature.
